Pricing

SimpleDMS can be operated in the cloud or on-premises. A subscription model applies in the cloud. The open-source version can be self-hosted.

• Cloud: The application is provided and operated by SimpleDMS.
• On-Premises: The application is operated by the customer on their own infrastructure. Either self-hosted or managed by SimpleDMS.

Cloud

The following prices refer to the cloud variant of SimpleDMS. Prices for services in on-premises operation can be found in the «On-Premises» section.

Storage Space

Additional storage space can be booked for 0.50 CHF per gigabyte per month. The price includes the costs for backups and data traffic.

A cost limit can be set in the settings to avoid surprises.

Contract Duration and Notice Period

The contract duration is one month.

Termination is possible without notice (until the last day of the contract) at the end of the contract. If no termination occurs, the contract is automatically extended by one month in each case.

Free Trial

The full range of functions of SimpleDMS can be tested for free for the first 30 days. Entering credit card details is not necessary for this.

End-User Support

End-user support via email is included in the price for up to 100 users per customer. Additional support channels and support agreements for more users can be arranged individually.

On-Premises

SimpleDMS is open-source software and can be self-hosted for free. Below is an overview of the services and additional services offered.

Services are provided by Marco Beierer, the lead developer of SimpleDMS.

LTS Version

For customers who want more stability and continuity, there is an LTS version of SimpleDMS with long-term support (security updates and bug fixes).

Access to the LTS version costs 95 CHF per month.

Alternative License

SimpleDMS is licensed under the «AGPL v3» license. The AGPL v3 is a license with a strong copyleft. This means that derivative works must be under the same license and changes to the source code must be published.

If this is not desired, licensing SimpleDMS under a license without copyleft is possible.

The price is 195 CHF per month.

Removal of Attribution Notices

The license requires maintaining the copyright and attribution notices (for example, the «Powered by SimpleDMS» link) in the application.

Waiving this obligation is possible for a one-time fee of 95 CHF per domain.

Operation

The operation of a long-term support version of SimpleDMS on the customer's infrastructure costs a flat rate of 395 CHF per month.

The price includes the costs for the LTS version and updates of SimpleDMS, the operating system, and software required for operation, such as Docker.

Installation and, if required, end-user support are charged at 195 CHF per hour according to effort.

Technical Support

Technical support, especially during commissioning and operation of SimpleDMS, is charged at 195 CHF per hour.

Technical support is currently only available for operation under Linux. However, operation is generally also possible under Windows.

End-User Support

End-user support in on-premises operation is charged at 195 CHF per hour according to effort.

White-Label SaaS Solution

In addition to the free open-source version of SimpleDMS, there is a paid version that enables the operation of SimpleDMS white-labeled as SaaS. This version is source-available and moficiations are allowed.

The SaaS solution comes with additional functions for managing tenants, such as customer management, the integration of a billing system, or the customization of the logo and color scheme.

The costs are 1 CHF / user / month. Technical support is charged at 195 CHF per hour according to effort.
